SLIB Implements Sterling Multi-Enterprise Finance Gateway to Simplify Straight-Through Processing of Transactions: Specialist Securities Processing Provider Selects Sterling Commerce to Provide a Single Multi-Channel Gateway for Global Communications. Sterling Commerce, an AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) company, announced that Services et Logiciels d'Integration Boursiere (SLIB), a leading provider of solutions and services for the European securities industry..
Omgeo moves into derivatives with Allustra acquisition: Omgeo has acquired London-based collateral management house Allustra, for an undisclosed sum. In addition, the post-trade processor has acquired a derivatives portfolio reconciliation platform designed by Global Electronic Markets (GEM), after piloting the technology with a large broker/dealer and global hedge fund.
VocaLink launches Sepa DD pilot with Austrian bank: Austrian bank Bawag PSK has signed up with payments vendor VocaLink for a pilot scheme to help its business-to-business direct debit payments become Sepa-compliant.
SIA-SSB wins Austrian cards contract; plans Warsaw, Moscow offices: Sinsys, a majority-owned subsidiary of SIA-SSB, has won a five-year card issuing processing contract with Austria's PayLife Bank. The five-year contract will run from mid-2010 and will replace the bank's current arrangement with First Data.
The Polish Central Securities Depository Chooses Microsoft BizTalk Server as Its Enterprise Financial Messaging Platform for the Future: Microsoft Corp. today announced at Sibos 2008 that the Polish National Depository for Securities (KDPW) is implementing Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT for the transport, management and exchange of more than 4 million SWIFT transactions per year.

Solutions for Tier 2 Banks "Invest, Partner or Both"

Back in August, FX&MM produced a 16+page SIBOS supplement, examining the following issues:

SEPA solutions for Tier 2 banks
The Single Euro Payments Area has set out to revolutionise Europe’s payments infrastructure and provide an efficient, paperless mechanism for high and low-value, corporate and retail payments. With the SEPA Direct Debit scheduled for implementation by the end of 2009, FX&MM looks at the options available for banks renewing their payments infrastructure in readiness, and whether banks are choosing to build, buy out of the box solutions, or outsource payments to larger banks.

FX Solutions for Tier 2 Banks

As both retail and institutional investors flood into the FX market, banks are struggling to keep up with spiralling volumes and demand, in an ever increasingly electronic marketplace, where low-latency - and - ultra-low latency is king. FX&MM looks at the out of the box solutions being offered by vendors for a robust trading engine as well as the white-label offering offered by banks for trading, pricing and processing of tickets.

Financial Supply Chain Solutions for Tier 2 Banks

How are banks and corporates working together to bring added value beyond traditional treasury and cash management services? FX&MM investigates new developments in corporate-to-bank trade services, whether the drive is there to build a universal multi-bank digital identity for corporates and what part banks will play in the development of e-invoicing, believed to be the biggest benefit for corporates from the establishment of SEPA.
